Toronto born, Amanda Rose Birchard (aka Menda Rose) is a singer, songwriter, pianist, and music educator. Amanda’s accumulated studies have granted her an MA in Music Education, a BFA in Music Theatre Performance, and a B.Ed. For 10 years, Amanda worked professionally throughout North America as an Equity singer / dancer / actor. Under the artist name Menda Rose, Amanda has one acoustic album of original works titled Hammers & Bones

In conjunction with Glenmore Records, Amanda features two “live off the floor, one-take” music videos for her tunes Here Here, Now Now and Mama Bean. Amanda is the band leader and front vocalist for "MR and the SC" (Menda Rose & the Sweet Collective) of which an EP was released in 2010. 

Amanda has been teaching children and adults for over 20 years. Teaching venues include private music studios and schools, Universities, the RCM, LKTYP, and summer camps throughout the GTA. As a research assistant, Amanda taught music in Iqaluit, Nunavut and with the Healthy Earth School, Amanda designed a primary Music Theatre program. Amanda currently works as a Primary Music Teacher with Crestwood School.
