Lyrics

I broke my umbrella
Said the boy to the girl
What will keep me dry in this world
It slipped from my fingers
In the craziest storm
And all my defenses were lost walking home

I’m so tired of scraping mud off of my shoes
And I’m tired of telling you all my bad news
And I’m fed up of looking back in my past with regret
And I’m tired of singing songs about being tired and wet

And the boy let his head fall
To the ground in despair
“If only I had a good reason to care”
But I felt all my insides
All my hopes and my plans
Go down the drain
I had no where to stand

I’m so tired of scraping mud off of my shoes
And I’m tired of telling you all my bad news
And I’m fed up of looking back in my past with regret
And I’m tired of singing songs about being tired and wet

I will fix your umbrella
Said the girl to the boy
Lace up your rain boots and wring your clothes dry
And together we’ll battle
The storm up above
And never again will we hang up our gloves

We’re so tired of scraping mud off of our shoes
And we’re tired of telling you all our bad news
And we’re fed up of looking back in our past with regret
And we’re tired of singing songs about being tired and wet
